Multi-disciplined roles and responsibilities assisting Accounting, Operations, and Sale functions. Able to provide day-today support on Accounting (assist on A/P and A/R record keeping); Operations (railcar/equipment tracking, equipment inspections, record keeping), Sales (support project costing and development, proposal development, opportunity searches). Position will direct report to the Director of Finance.

General duties:

  • Provide tracking and status reports as required by Management.
  • Implement project cost saving initiatives and customer cost saving initiatives.
  • Attends accounting, operation and sales meetings as deemed appropriate.
  • Support resolution with customer requested changes, vendor and equipment issues, and other operations and sales constraints.

Accounting

  • Track projects budget to assure margin is being met or exceeded per bid requirements.
  • Provide accurate and timely cost, revenue and tracking reports as required.
  • Assists in collecting receivables within contracted time period.
  • Assist in entering payables in QuickBooks
  • Assist in end of month and year closings.

Operations

  • Support pricing strategies and cost models with support from Operations
  • Track and support resolution for project issues pertaining to truck/rail logistics/disposal and/or treatment services.
  • Ability to manage change orders as they arise from customers

Sales:

  • Effectively utilizes, coordinates, and cultivates relationships with internal and external customers. Interacts and works cohesively with Director of Business Development and other sales team members as required.
  • Works in tandem with sales to assist customers in every aspect of company’s sales process. This includes but is not limited to: proposal preparation, pricing, contracting, and providing updates.
  • Communicates competitive and market information to management to assist in business unit planning and strategies.
  • Draft and write proposals as needed.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Excellent computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, internet searches) QuickBooks a must.

Demonstrates expert knowledge of waste regulations (RCRA, TSCA, CERCLA) a plus

Demonstrates superior organizational skills.

Maintains firm adherence to the management and control of confidential information.

Performs special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Managing Director.

This job has no supervisory duties but may occasionally act as a team lead.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or science plus at least three to five years’ experience working in the truck and rail logistics arena. Experience in hazardous and/or radioactive waste management industry an extreme plus.

General experience in these fields is a plus:
  • Rail Logistics
  • Truck Logistics

Knowledge of hazardous waste requirements and DOT regulations is a plus.

Work Environment

Ability to work in a general office environment and possible travel to remediation or plant environments as required supporting sales and operations and able to lift 30 pounds
