This position reports to the President and is responsible for establishing and maintaining the corporate quality assurance, safety, and compliance programs and for ensuring its effective implementation across the organization and vendor support activities.

Duties and Responsibilties:

  • Establish and maintain an internal and external audit program.
  • Provide internal and external audits and surveillances.
  • Provide personnel quality indoctrination and training.
  • Provide inspection and certification overview of NAC LPT Equipment.
  • Review and approve equipment purchases.
  • Review and approve customer proposal and contract documents for regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a corrective action program.
  • Establish and achieve the organization’s annual performance objectives.
  • Provide quality trends and recommend improvements.
  • Certify and approve vendors.
  • Establish and maintain budgets.
  • Participate in the corporate sales, marketing, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Support Shipping LLW programs

Minimum Performance Standards:

  • Appropriate levels of verification are implemented to assess the effectiveness of the quality assurance program.
  • Maintain spending within established budgets.
  • Maintain a 90% external customer and 99% internal customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Achieve performance standards established by corporate policy and superior.

Authorities

  • Stop work when quality of products and services may be adversely affected.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years or more professional experience; 4 years or more experience managing quality assurance, safety and compliance programs in the transportation industry is preferred.
  • Experience base should include a minimum of 4 years associated with internal and external audits, quality training, equipment usage and application and certifying and approving vendors, especially in the transportation industry.
  • In depth knowledge of DOT packaging, shipping LLW, and LLW disposal and process facilities
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation industry codes and standards.
  • Bachelors’ degree, (in engineering, sciences, or business) from an accredited college/university or equivalent
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills are required.
  • General computer skills and knowledge are required.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and work in an office and field environment
